NWCT is thrilled to partner once again with Anita Menon, who co-directed 2015’s smash hit, Indian-dance infused adaptation of "The Jungle Book". Featuring epic martial arts sequences and a wide range of dance styles, Chitra tells the story of a warrior princess who struggles to stay true to herself while balancing her responsibility to her people with the call of true love.

About the Bloggers

Ritu Ghosal moved to the US, in 2014. She has a public health degree from the highly acclaimed London School of Economics after 

winning a scholarship from the prestigious Tata foundation. Her career-graph includes working at the prestigious Public Health Foundation of India, delivering innovative health care solutions to some of the remotest parts of the country. She is currently pursuing advanced courses at the Oregon Health and Sciences University. She has been an active member of the Indian community in Portland, taking part in several community programs over the years. She loves to travel and explore new cuisines. Her current hobbies include dancing and catching up on crime thrillers!

Sudipta Majumdar has been trained in Indian Classical dance forms since the age of 3. She received her ‘Vishaarad’ in Katthak from Nritya

Natya Parishad (India) in the year 1997 at the age of 13. Initially trained under Guru Karabi Sharma, she was accepted with a scholarship at Benaras Hindu University to train in the nuances of Benaras and Lucknow Gharana performing arts. In the past decade, Sudipta has travelled extensively and performed across India and United Kingdom.

 

A Masters in Medical Genetics and alumni of the prestigious institutions like Fergusson College (India) and University of Glasgow (Scotland), Sudipta also works full-time in the pharmaceutical industry. She is currently a resident of Hillsboro, Oregon and training in Bharatnatyam under Anita Menon.
